Welcome
to Notts Anaconda, Nottingham's longest running and most
successful dragon boat racing club.
2012 promises to be an even bigger and better year for Notts
Anaconda than 2011 was. We are shortly due to collect our newest
addition to the club, another new BuK racing boat all ready for the
2012 racing season.
In 2011 we've just had our most successful season for many
years, we purchased a new racing BuK boat at the start of the year
after being promoted last season to the Premier Division and this
year we have just finished 3rd in the 200m event and 5th in the
500m event in the Premier Division. We have also had growing
success with our new Challengers crew, in their first season
competing they have finished 8th in both the 200m and 500m events
in the Standard Division.
If you want to join in the success and help us do even better
next year or if you just fancy trying something a bit
different, come down and try your hand at one of the fastest
growing competitive team sports.
It is open to all abilities, no previous experience is required.
You will be surprised how quickly you pick it up, recently we had a
new member who went from complete novice to representing Great
Britain in the Senior Mixed Crew at the recent 2010
European Championships in Amsterdam, and all this in little over a
year!
We offer free taster sessions during any regular Wednesday or
Sunday training session. Full details about where and when we train
can be found here.
